### a. Location Data
Speed Dash requires access to your device’s Global Positioning System (GPS) to function. We use your location data in real-time to:
* Calculate and display your current speed and altitude.
* Show your position on the interactive map.
* Fetch relevant speed limits and traffic data for your immediate surroundings.
* Record your speed and altitude history for the current session graphs.
**Usage:** This data is processed **locally on your device**. We do not transmit your location history to our own servers or store it in the cloud.
### b. Search History
When you search for a destination, the app saves your recent searches to help you quickly find them later.
**Storage:** This data is stored securely on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. You can clear this history at any time by deleting the app.
## 3. Third-Party Services
To provide rich mapping and navigation features, Speed Dash integrates with trusted third-party services. These services may process ephemeral location data to provide their functionality.
### a. Mapbox
We use the **Mapbox Maps SDK** to display interactive maps, terrain, and live traffic data.
* **Data Shared:** Your device IP address and location coordinates are sent to Mapbox to fetch the appropriate map tiles and traffic information.
* **Privacy:** Mapbox processes this data according to their privacy policy.

### b. OpenStreetMap (Overpass API)
We use the **Overpass API** to fetch real-time speed limit data from OpenStreetMap.
* **Data Shared:** Anonymous location coordinates and a search radius are sent to Overpass API servers (e.g., `overpass-api.de` or `overpass.kumi.systems`) to retrieve speed limits for roads near you.
* **Privacy:** These queries are anonymous and do not contain personal identifiers.
### c. Apple Services
We use **Apple's MKLocalSearch** API for finding destinations.
* **Data Shared:** Search queries are processed by Apple.
* **Privacy:** Apple processes this data in accordance with their privacy policy.

## 4. Data Storage
* **On-Device Only:** All personal data generated by Speed Dash (including settings, search history, and trip statistics) is stored locally on your iPhone.
* **No Accounts:** Speed Dash does not require user accounts or login. We do not have a database of user information.
## 5. Your Choices
You have full control over your data:
* **Location Permissions:** You can grant or revoke "While Using the App" location access in your iPhone Settings at any time. Revoking access will prevent the speedometer and map from functioning.
* **App Deletion:** Deleting the app will permanently remove all locally stored data, including search history and settings.
## 6. Children’s Privacy
Speed Dash is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.
